Sustainable Wind Power

Action Vertical Axis Wind Turbine

A new class of wind technology engineered for scale, safety, and reliability

Reinventing What a Wind Turbine Can Be

The Action Vertical Axis Wind Turbine design introduces a breakthrough approach to large-scale wind energy.  Offering advantages not present in other wind turbine designs.  Designed for durability, simplicity, and scalability.  Action VAWT eliminates many of the vulnerabilities found in traditional turbine design - enabling the construction of large-scale turbines.

The Action VAWTs are constructed using one of three systems specified in the patent application and drawings. Two systems use the centrifugal force produced by the wind to control the speed of the turbine and do not require electrical power to control the rotational speed. By using a non-electrical control device, the Action VAWT is not susceptible to lightning strikes that damage the controlling electrical components which can result in complete destruction of the wind turbine.

The Action VAWT operates a pneumatic system with two functions; it maintains the positioning of the operating components of the turbine and inflates dampers that regulate the movement of the blades as the Action VAWT rotates. In the event of air pressure loss, the components will flatten the blades and stop the turbine.

The Action VAWT is designed to be manufactured with ferrous metals, allowing for recycling after the end of service.

Inventor and Ownership

The Action VAWT is the patented invention of Andrew Schneider is the inventor who hold complete ownership of the led patent application and all associated intellectual property.

Licensing Opportunities

Licenses are available to develop manufacture install and operation Action Verticle Axis Wind Turbines.

Licenses are sold based on nameplate capacity.  For example, a developer may purchase a one-gigawatt license and allocate that capacity accross any number of turbines or projects.  This structure provides maximum flexibility for deployment.  A royalty on electricity generation will apply to turbines placed into service.
